This build holds a very special place in the hearts of LUXE Global Advisors founders, David and Evelyn Pellegrin.

In 2009, David began noticing subtle changes in his mother, Diane “DeeDee” Pellegrin. By 2014, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Over the years, David and Evelyn have walked this journey beside her with deep love, witnessing her courage, grace, and quiet strength as the disease slowly changed the way she communicates with the world. Yet one thing never faded: Dee Dee’s love for giving back, especially her passion for Habitat for Humanity.

For many years, until Alzheimer’s took away her ability to speak, one of Dee Dee’s most cherished stories was volunteering on Habitat build sites. She loved recalling how she worked shoulder to shoulder with big, burly construction workers, proudly holding her own on the job site. In those moments, she found purpose, pride, and joy, proof that service has nothing to do with strength alone, and everything to do with heart.

This home is being sponsored by DeeDee and built in her honor for a deserving family in need. She will be present on build day, proudly wearing the Habitat construction helmet she has treasured for years, and again on dedication day, when she will help present this home to its new family. She will be surrounded by those who love her most, her son David, her daughter in law Evelyn, and her two grandsons, standing beside her in support as this home is handed over with dignity, hope, and gratitude to a family that truly deserves a place to call home.

For David and Evelyn, this build represents love, legacy, and gratitude. It is a way to honor a woman who gave so much of herself to others, while helping provide stability, dignity, and a fresh start for a family who needs it most. It is, quite simply, the least we can do.
